Lennon's lyric fetches more than $1m

The lyrics to the final song on the classic Beatles album “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” sold for $1.2m at auction today.

John Lennon’s handwritten words to “A Day in the Life” were bought by a private American collector, bidding by phone at the Sotheby’s sale in New York.
