Calvin Harris has taken a swipe at "boring" indie music - he has decided "depressing" rock songs have no place in the charts during a recession.

The Scottish DJ, who has enjoyed two number one singles in the UK, has grown disillusioned with the way the charts have been leaning towards guitar-based tunes - branding the music scene an "indie-landfill".
