Aguilera to make acting debut

Christina Aguilera is set to make her first appearance on the big screen.

Movie magazine Variety reports that the singer will star in the forthcoming musical 'Burlesque'.

Shooting for the film is set to take place later this year.

Christina will play the role of a small-town singer who joins a Los Angeles burlesque club.

It will be the first time that the singer has starred in a movie, although she did provide the voice for a small part in the animated film 'Shark Tale'.
