Crowe plans role in musical

Russell Crowe is hoping to follow fellow Antipodeans Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman and hit the high notes in a new movie musical.

The gruff 'Gladiator' star, who once fronted Aussie rock act Thirty Odd Foot of Grunt, has revealed he is currently looking at a script for a new film, which will require him to belt out a tune.
