Cowell puts 'American Idol' contestant back to work

'American Idol' judge Simon Cowell phoned up a contestant's former boss and begged him to give the singer her job back - after she quit to pursue a career in the music industry.

The British music mogul is currently touring the US with the hit TV talent show, auditioning wannabes for the upcoming series.
