Slash refuses credit for 'Sweet Child'

Former Guns N' Roses guitar ace Slash refuses to accept credit for the band's biggest hit 'Sweet Cjhild O' Mine' - insisting he came up with the famous opening solo by accident.

Slash's riff is ranked among the best ever by rock enthusiasts - but he prefers to laud frontman Axl Rose for moulding it into a hit single.

He told Rolling Stone magazine: "There was not a lot of forethought to Sweet Child O' Mine, that riff.

It was just something I was messing around (with), and stumbled across this interesting pattern.

"I've got to give credit to Axl Rose and the other guys in the band for really turning it into a song".
