Magazine bosses accused of fabricating an interview with Scarlett Johansson are blaming the controversy on a freelance reporter.

The actress was furious when the UK edition of Cosmopolitan put her on its cover, accompanied by an interview in which she seemingly spoke openly about her marriage to Ryan Reynolds.
