Jackson nervous about new album, says producer Ne-Yo

Michael Jackson is nervous about what fans and critics will think of his new album, according to R&B star Ne-Yo.

The 'Closer' star - who worked with Jackson on the comeback record - admits the troubled singer is hesitant about its release.

The album was due to be released at the end of the year, but is now likely to hit store shelves next year.

Ne-Yo said: "He keeps putting it off. Michael is very nervous as he knows he's the underdog and people want him to fail.

"It's tough when all eyes are on him and there is so much young competition out there. This album needs to be better than 'Thriller'. He wants killer melodies."
