Winehouse cancels US appearances

Amy Winehouse will not be performing at the MTV Video Music Awards, or anywhere else in the United States in the near future, her record label said today.

The British retro-soul singer was to perform at the September 9 event in Las Vegas, but her US record label, Universal Republic Records, said today that all US appearances have been cancelled “in a continued effort to support Amy Winehouse’s well-being”.
