The curse of the Oscars

Minds have been turning to thoughts of doom concerning the upcoming Oscars … like is there a curse on getting even a nomination?

A recent survey highlighted the career of Belfast-born Kenneth Branagh who has picked up three nods – 1990 as Best Director for Henry V, 1993 for his short Swan Song and 1997 for writing Hamlet – and, it is claimed, seen his once-glittering career slide.
