Weller rejects royal honour

British rocker Paul Weller has turned down the chance to be made a Commander of the British Empire (CBE) by Queen Elizabeth II in her New Year Honours list.

The 48-year-old received a letter offering him the prestigious accolade but rejected it, following the lead of rock legend David Bowie, who also snubbed the honour in the past.
