Script suffers in Rome: Season 1

The BBC showed how to make a popular drama with the Roman mini-series I Claudius. Rome: Season 1 (HBO, €74.99) is a competent costume drama centring around Julius Caesar.

It sprinkles sex scenes fairly liberally, but fails to hit the same spots on several levels, mainly because the script isn’t so good.
