Latin beauty Shakira nearly pulled out of performing at Heliodoro Stadium on the Spanish island of Tenerife on Thursday after she was struck with a severe virus.

Shakira, currently on her feted European tour, has been suffering from a painful throat infection and soaring temperatures - but despite nearly ditching the date at the last minute, she determinedly struggled through the set.
