Bloom insisted on new pirate boots

Orlando Bloom insisted his wardrobe be upgraded on the second Pirates Of The Caribbean shoot because he was the only character in the first film who didn't have a pair of pirate boots.

The star was humiliated while shooting the first film because he was forced to wear tiny shoes and frilly stockings - but he demanded an impressive pair of boots to make up for it in the sequel Dead Man's Chest.

He explains: "I got the boots this time. That was a big deal. In the first one I had these little shoes and these stockings.

"I was like, 'Everyone else has got boots! It's ridiculous!' I mean how can you compete with that?

"So I got some boots and quite a cool leather jacket. It's like the biker jacket of pirate jackets. I was quite chuffed!"
