Cracking cameos in Breakfast on Pluto

IN Breakfast on Pluto (Pathe, €24.99) Cillian Murphy plays transvestite Patrick ‘Kitten’ Brady, who endures funny, painful adventures in London as he seeks out his real mother.

Neil Jordan’s film, adapted from Patrick McCabe’s work, has its moments, especially with a riveting performance from Murphy, and some cracking cameos from Liam Neeson (as a priest who happens to be Brady’s father), Brendan Gleeson and Stephen Rea, but ultimately it loses its way.
