I loved the death scenes which started off each one, and even the title music. Five seasons hardly seemed enough.

Six episodes feature commentaries, while there’s a fine two-part featurette which looks back on the entire series, and another featurette that examines its impact.

And if you came to the series late, then treat yourself to Six Feet Under: The Complete DVD Collector’s edition (HBO, €239.49). Expensive, perhaps, but possibly worth it.
