Carey: 'My breakdown was my breakthrough'

Mariah Carey is thankful for the breakdown she suffered four years ago, because it saved her from a worse fate.

The singer collapsed suffering from exhaustion in 2001, resulting in a lengthy spell in hospital - which she now blames on a punishing and self-imposed work schedule.
