Kylie's illness helps others

Australian singer Kylie Minogue has taken some positives from her battle with breast cancer - she is pleased her high profile diagnosis has raised awareness about the deadly disease.

The I Believe In You hitmaker shocked the world in May when she cancelled the remaining dates on her Showgirl world tour to undergo treatment, and she hopes her ordeal will help save more lives.

Kylie's sister Dannii said: "She is thrilled that one good thing that has come out of her illness is that other women of a similar age are now so much more aware of breast cancer.

"The numbers of women getting themselves checked out has shot up and Kylie is really pleased she has had a positive effect on something like that."
