Albarn slams Live 8

Blur singer Damon Albarn has hit out at the Live 8 concerts for spreading the myth Africa is a hopeless cause.

The singer was disillusioned by the way the live extravaganzas - intended to raise awareness of poverty in Africa - overlooked African musicians.
