Michael Jackson's comeback album, The essential Michael Jackson, has flopped in the US charts after selling a mere 8,000 copies in its first week on sale.

The greatest hits release charted at a lowly 128 in America - despite rocketing in at number two across the Atlantic in the UK's album chart.
