Anyone who enjoyed John Carpenter’s cult classic might be less than enthusiastic about a remake of Assault on Precinct 13 (Sony), especially in the hands of Jerry Bruckheimer and director Jean-Francois Richet.

Anyone who enjoyed John Carpenter’s cult classic might be less than enthusiastic about a remake of Assault on Precinct 13 (Sony), especially in the hands of Jerry Bruckheimer and director Jean-Francois Richet.

Yet this action thriller has lots going for it, especially Ethan Hawke who plays cop Jake Roenick stuck in a charge of a remote police station who suddenly finds himself lumbered with star witness/gangster Marion Bishop (Laurence Fishburne).
