E! apologises for Simpson/Lachey divorce report

US entertainment company E! has issued an apology to Jessica Simpson after it falsely reported she had filed for divorce from husband Nick Lachey.

E! online set the gossip world abuzz with the report claiming the stars of TV's 'Newlyweds' had filed for divorce citing "irreconcilable differences". However, within an hour, the website retracted the report and issued an apology.
