Wood hooked on soccer rivalry

The Lord of the Rings star Elijah Wood got a shocking taste of fervent fans of British soccer while preparing for his new film Hooligans when he went to see a game between longtime London rivals West Ham United and Millwall.

The 24-year-old actor, who plays an American with a love of the violent side of soccer in the film, was told the London derby would be a good game to watch if he wanted to get a feel for boiling passions.
