Coldplay miss out on cash with late album

British rockers Coldplay have missed out on a hefty record company bonus, because they didn't finish their new album in time.

The band were offered a financial incentive by label EMI to complete X&Y, the follow up to 2002 hit A Rush of Blood to the Head, ahead of deadline.
