Elton John backs Foxx for Oscar

British singer Elton John is backing Jamie Foxx to scoop the Best Actor Oscar at this year's ceremony, after being impressed with his performance in the acclaimed Ray Charles biopic Ray.

John, who recorded with Charles just before his death last year, is hoping Foxx will beat fellow nominees Leonardo DiCaprio, Don Cheadle, Johnny Depp and Clint Eastwood to take home the coveted statuette at the February 27 ceremony.
