Harry Potter tops Amazon chart - before release

The sixth Harry Potter book has already topped the Amazon chart, less than 24 hours after its release date was announced.

Potter fans will have to wait until July 16 to get their hands on Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince – but amazon.co.uk have been deluged with pre-orders from customers reserving a copy.

Within hours of the publication date being disclosed the book had leapfrogged such best-sellers as The Da Vinci Code to top Amazon’s Hot 100 chart.
