Law praises American press

Jude Law has hit out at the British media, saying he wishes they were as nice as the press in America.

The Alfie actor complains he is always treated well on trips to the States, while the tabloids in his homeland are obsessed with his love life and relationship with former wife Sadie Frost.

Law told reporters at Alfie's US premiere in New York on Monday: "You know, the press has been an absolute joy to me in this country. I came in over the weekend and they've been easy, friendly and made me comfortable.

"Look, I love my own country but, in England, they're rougher. They can give it to you right in the back."
