Williams explains split with 'friend' Hunter

British singer Robbie Williams has exposed the truth behind his split with former girlfriend Rachel Hunter - he didn't love her.

The 'Feel' star began romancing Hunter, the estranged wife of Rod Stewart, when he moved to Los Angeles in January 2002, but soon realised she wasn't "the one".

Williams says: "I really liked her. Not loved, but liked, you know.

"I knew no-one in LA so she was a good friend - but not marriage material.

"She went nuts when I ended it, but I needed to know if she was the one and I pretty much worked out that she wasn't after a few days."
