Doherty wants to keep the peace

Former Libertines wildman Pete Doherty is refusing to rejoin the British band - because he doesn't want to be part of a "pantomime".

Doherty, who was asked to leave the group after several failed attempts to kick his crack and heroin habits, hopes he can still be friends with Libertines frontman Carl Barat, but is determined to remain creative.
