Bourne puts Damon back on top

Matt Damon's sequel to 2002's The Bourne Identity has shot to the top of the American box office with a staggering $53.5m (€44m) first-weekend take.

The thriller was expected to compete with Will Smith's I, Robot, which shot to the top of the box office charts last week (18JUL04), but made more than $30m (€25m) more than the sci-fi blockbuster.
