Police probe disappearance of U2's rough cut CD

French police are investigating the suspected theft of a rough cut of U2’s new album which disappeared during a photo shoot in the city of Nice yesterday.

The disappearance was discovered during the photo shoot on Tuesday night.

Police quickly sealed off the building where the shoot was taking place and searched everyone inside, but found no trace of the missing CD.

U2 and their record label have expressed fears that it could now end up on the internet, months before its planned release.
