Mel Gibson has defended his graphic depiction of Christ’s crucifixion in his film, The Passion Of The Christ, saying it was meant to make viewers realise the extent of Jesus’s sacrifice.

Mel Gibson has defended his graphic depiction of Christ’s crucifixion in his film, The Passion Of The Christ, saying it was meant to make viewers realise the extent of Jesus’s sacrifice.

“I think it pushes one over the edge so that they see the enormity, the enormity of that sacrifice,” he told ABC’s Primetime programme in an interview to be shown tomorrow.
