Lord of the Rings finale smashes box office records

The final episode of the Lord of the Rings trilogy shattered box office records, taking €198m at cinemas in the first five days of its world-wide release.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King took €100m in the US alone helping it to the biggest worldwide opening in history.
