Lord of the Rings sets new record

The final film in the Lord Of The Rings trilogy has recorded the biggest opening in British box office history, it emerged today.

The Return Of The King set a new box office record in Britain, taking £3,029,176 (€4,319,832) when it opened on Wednesday, the film’s publicists said today.
