Penn and Blanchett top awards race

Sean Penn and Cate Blanchett will both be competing with themselves in this year’s awards races.

Penn is being pushed as a best actor Oscar and Golden Globe nominee for both Mystic River and 21 Grams, while Blanchett will be eligible for best actress honours for her title role in Veronica Guerin and for the Western drama The Missing.
