Joey almost sure to go on after Friends

Matt LeBlanc, who last week earned his second Emmy nomination for his role as Joey, the soap opera actor in Friends, is almost certain to star in a new television series based on the character, say sources.

Although no deal has yet been signed, the NBC network is stepping up the pressure to secure a firm commitment from LeBlanc, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
