Elton: Young are throwing lives away

Aids campaigner Elton John has warned young people they were “throwing their lives away” as official figures showed a shocking rise in sexually transmitted diseases.

He urged people to practise safe sex and called for better education on the dangers as he pointed out that strained health services would be unable to cope with the epidemic.
