Lavigne hit to become star of big screen

Singer Avril Lavigne's hit single Sk8er Boi, which has become an anthem for American teenagers, is heading for the big screen.

The song, which captures the divide between cliques and cultures, has been bought by Paramount Pictures and is being adapted into a feature film.
