Hopkins may join Farrell in big-budget epic

Anthony Hopkins may be joining Ireland’s Colin Farrell in Oliver Stone’s big-budget epic Alexander.

The actor, who was last seen as Hannibal Lecter in Red Dragon, is negotiating to take the role of Ptolemy, the last surviving general in the army of Macedonia conqueror Alexander the Great, reports Daily Variety. A younger actor will be cast to play Ptolemy in battles scenes.
