Michael Douglas praises Catherine in magazine ad

Michael Douglas has spent £12,000 (€17,500) on an advert in film magazine Variety to congratulate wife Catherine Zeta Jones for her "hard work" in Chicago.

Catherine is up for best supporting actress at the Oscars on March 23, with Chicago nominated in 13 categories in total.

The ad is from him and their son, Dylan.

It reads: "Dear Catherine/Mom, we know how hard you worked and we know what a joy it turned out to be. We love you, Michael and Dylan."

Michael spoke of his pride at seeing his wife being named Best Supporting Actress at the Orange British Academy Film Awards, last month.
