Coldplay and Oasis battle for NME awards

Chart stars Coldplay will go head to head with Oasis to be named top artists of the year at a respected music awards event, the shortlist showed today.

The bands will battle it out with rapper Eminem, gloomy rockers Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, feisty singer Pink and Aussie guitar band The Vines for the title at the NME Awards.
