Bee Gees name dies with Maurice

The surviving Gibb brothers said today they will abandon the Bee Gees name following the death of Maurice.

Although they expect to carry on making music, Robin Gibb – Maurice’s twin - and elder brother Barry say that their famous band name only applies to their long career as a trio.

Maurice died earlier this month in a Miami hospital. He had suffered a heart attack prior to an operation to remove an intestinal blockage.
