After the success of his portrayal of Bill the Butcher in Gangs of New York, Daniel Day-Lewis has returned to his life of obscurity.

The actor, who reluctantly emerged from a self-imposed exile to make Gangs of New York with director Martin Scorsese, is being tipped for an Oscar come March, but he says he has no plans to "hang around in Hollywood".
