The Two Towers is box office smash

The new Lord Of The Rings film has had a bigger opening day in both the UK and America than the first film.

The Two Towers made $26m (€25.3m) during its first day in US cinemas. In comparison, The Fellowship Of The Ring took in $18m (€17.5m) last year.
