Three men accused of blackmailing movie star Russell Crowe over his role in a brawl said today they are suing police and prosecutors for malicious prosecution and wrongful arrest.

Philip Antony Cropper and Malcolm Brian Mercer, both 38, and Mark Potts, 45, were accused by police of trying to extort money from Crowe after he was allegedly captured on a videotape in a brawl outside a nightclub in the east coast town of Coffs Harbour on November 18, 1999.
