US Pop Idol could be ruined by phone rigging

Reports today claimed producers of the American version of Pop Idol believe the talent contest could be ruined by viewers making up to 10,000 phone votes each.

They reckon up to 100 viewers have been using computer automating software to try to fix the competition.
