Affleck's personal worries caused booze problems

Ben Affleck has blamed his alcohol problems on his fears of what other people thought about him.

Affleck spent time in a rehab clinic in Malibu last year to help stop him drinking.

He says the pressure to become Hollywood's 'next big thing' contributed to his problems.

"I don't worry so much now about the things that don't matter, about making everybody happy and hoping everybody will love everything I do," Affleck said.

"If you paid attention to the reviews all the time, it would kill you," he said. "I just try to maintain my own standard about it."
