'I wish' says Enrique of Anna romance claims

Enrique Iglesias is insisting in a magazine interview that he is not romantically involved with tennis star Anna Kournikova.

Asked by the Mail on Sunday's Popworld magazine if they were dating, he said: "I wish!"

He said they had a great time doing the video (for his new single, 'Escape') but that was it.

"She's crazy, but in a cool way. I heard rumours that I would not kiss her because she had a cold sore, but that's not true," he said.

The singer said it was strange being a sex symbol.

"When I was at high school, I couldn't pick up a cold! I've been rejected a whole bunch of times, and I've only had one serious girlfriend - from the age of 16 to 20. It's only since I've enjoyed success with my records that I've started getting more attention from the ladies."

He says he has had some "mad fans", including a girl who called him all the time on his mobile and home number, and followed him in her car.

"She wasn't young, which made it more freaky! There was another time when a girl hid in my hotel room, and once a girl hid under a table in my dressing room for eight hours."

He escapes from the craziness of celebrity life by spending time at the movies, while his favourite places to escape to are his homes in Miami, or Los Angeles.
