Naomi Radcliffe, who played tragic mum Alison Webster in Coronation Street, is always being asked whether her character intended to kill herself, when she stepped out onto a busy road, in front of a juggernaut.

Was it suicide or was her mind so troubled by the loss of her infant son Jake that she didn't know what she was doing?
