Gareth set to maintain top spot

Teen heart-throb Gareth Gates looks set to stay at number one in the UK singles chart longer than Pop Idol rival Will Young, early sales figures indicated today.

Gareth is likely to hang on at the top of the charts for a fourth week with Unchained Melody on Sunday, compared with show winner Will’s run of just three weeks.
